The whole process of SEO in 9 easy steps

1. Provide a title to each and every post that you upload. When you provide a title, see to it that you frame the title with the most relevant keywords that you wish to target. To know how to find a suitable title to your post, click here

2. Every picture that you post in your blog should be made SEO - friendly. For every image that you post, tag the image using the ALT HTML property.

3. Add title to your blog post using the H1 tag. When you provide a title using the H1 tag, the search engine gives the corresponding title more importance, than a title which is under H2 tag. As and when it increases from H1 to H6 the level of importance provided by the search engine decreases.

4. Register your website in DMOZ directory. DMOZ is also called as the Open Directory Project. Each and every website is added to DMOZ directory manually and so it might take many months for your site to get added. If your website is added in DMOZ directory, your page rank will automatically increase and your website will get more visibility in the search engines.

5. Submit your website to various search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. You can submit your site using the URLs provided below

6. Always ping your blog when you update or add new blog post. When you ping your blog, it notifies to the search engines that you have updated your blog. The more frequently you update your blog, higher the chance of your blog becoming more visible in the search engines. You can ping your blog using the URLS shown below

8. Create a Site Map for your website. The Site Map is an XML file which contains links of all the posts you have created in your blog.

9. Register with various discussion boards and participate in online discussions related to your website topic. When you make a reply post, see to it that you add your signature below the reply that you have made.
